Galas range from level one to level five, level ones are for the youngest and newer swimmers, and as you go up they become more advanced . (read more)

What are Qualification times (QTs)
As you enter galas some (usually starting at level 3) need qualifying time, this means the swimmer needs to swim the time set out in a previous gala within the set out timeframe. Some Qts are in short course and some in long course please check

What are consideration times?
Qts are used to limit the amount of swimmers in a race however they may also use CTs which are times slower than the Qt. If not enough swimmers reach QT some swimmers who achieve a CT will may allowed to swim. If you have a CT you may get accepted but is not guaranteed.

What are conversion times ?
Short course times are faster than long course as such Qts need be adjusted so all time may be coverted to long course. Eg if Qt is for 100fc is 1:11.59 long course however if you want to qualify in short course you need 1:10.00 (not all galas accept conversion times)

The coaching team is constantly monitoring all swimmer's improvement and development. Their current Coach In consultation with the head Coach may make a decision to invite a swimmer to move up

While there is no exact checklist, swimmers may move up at different rates. Coaches are looking for their Technique, skill, speed, Gala attendance, behaviour and willingness to learn.

Are squad moves based on speed?
While speed is an element there are many factors our Coaches consider before making any moves.

At Titans our training does not end in the pool gym classes help the swimmer work on the correct techniques in a different environment and allow the coaches to develop muscle groups that will enable them to swim better, The coaches will find balance in how much gym would benefit each squad.
